Netscape Composer

Rather limited nearly WhatYouSeeIsWhatYouGet editing software for WebPage. Good for beginners to edit their first WebPage, but even slightly advanced users will soon switch to other editors.

It's a builtin feature of NetscapeCommunicator, which must be the reason that anybody is using it actually.

I really *hate* what it does to your html source just by reading it in and writing it back again.

A perfect example of what happens when a corporate software development team produces something a corporate marketing team says "the market needs" -- and forgets YouArentGonnaNeedIt.

Does anybody use NetscapeComposer? Is there any reason other than sheer hubris that its right-button menu pick still sits right under navigator, begging to be mistakenly invoked?

This is perfect micro-example of a terrible user interface, a terrible tool, and terrible product management.

If you have to deal with users insisting on using MicrosoftWord for editing WebPage, you'll be grateful for anyone using NetscapeComposer. -- LarsReineke
