CDMA, or CodeDivisionMultipleAccess, in the context of MobilePhone refer to the QualcommInc initiated standard, using CDMA technology. The more widely used GSM (GlobalSystemForMobileCommunication) uses "time division" technology.
CDMA based implementations are expected to be extended into the ThirdGeneration arena.
