This is a simple database that is frequently used by Chris Date & Hugh Darwen in their books (e.g., AnIntroductionToDatabaseSystems and TheThirdManifesto) for examples. It's handy to have this as a reference for discussing database software. They also use an even simpler SupplierPartsDatabase as a basis for many of their examples. Tables S and P, and their typical contents, are the same in both databases.
