There are numerous critical IT survival skills for the new start, as well as people already working.
Some of these include:
- knowledge of the environment and culture; learn about any shifts quickly
- ability to apply that knowledge
- some aptitude in technical matters
- self-discipline and perseverance
- good skills in making trade-offs
- lots of resilience
- knowing when to keep your mouth shut
